Authenticity Regulations/Contact info
Authenticy regulations:
1. All uniforms must be authentic army regulation and correct 1840's-1865 pattern and of wool or jeanwool. Boots must be leather, flat- or round-toed. No cowboy boots. Anachronisms such as zippers, belt loops, combat boots, sneakers, modern work pants, buck skins, etc., will not be allowed.
2. You can get drop front Navy wool trousers for union impression if you wish.
3. All leather accoutrements, buckles, buttons, etc., should be correct 1840's-1865 pattern.
4. Wrist watches are not allowed; you may carry a pocket watch. Modern looking jewelry is to be kept out of sight except for wedding bands.
5. Only percussion military firearms designed prior to 1865 will be permitted on the field. No Hawkins, Kentucky, or modern rifles.
6. For the sake of looking authentic, do not smile for pictures.
7. Ladies must be in period dress at all times while in authentic camps when portraying civilians. If dressed modern, try not to go in and out of your tent because spectators will think you're a spectator and think it's ok for them to go through tents, too.
8. No modern anachronisms will be permitted in the authentic camps while camps are open to spectators. This includes but is not limited to cars, trucks, radios, etc. (Cell phones, flashlights, etc. are allowed in when camps are closed or when spectators aren't looking.)
9. NEVER use the phrase "If they had it back then they would have used it." It sends chills up and down our spines.
10. If you're not sure about the authenticity of something, or don't know if it will pass as authentic, just ask someone (preferably before you buy it).
11. If someone is arguing with you about the authenticity of an item, ask someone whose impression and authenticity you trust about it.
