Civil War Links
Sutlers websites
These are some of the websites I give to people in our unit to help them find uniforms, tents, civilian clothing, camp equipment, etc. These aren't all the websites I found. This is just all I could put on here. All the websites I have found have the best prices and quality I could find. That's many hours on the internet. Some weren't as hard to find as others since most of them go to events and either they tell me about their website or I look it up. These aren't all the good sutlers--there are some out there (especially most of those who sell women's clothing) that aren't on the internet. I will gladly consider any other websites someone mentions to me and possibly list them. If you have had any experience with any of these sutlers or their goods, please let me know.
P.S. I know the links are hard to see, I did it that way just to mess with people. No, really, I didn't pick it out--I can't see the links too well either but can't change them. We'll just have to live with it. :)

Best prices on Pistols--The kind we're suggesting people get is the 1858 Remington New Army. Since you can't have too many pistols, you can get extra cylinders for this one and it's like having more than one pistol.

These women are here to help beginning civilians with their portrayal of life in the 1860's. I wish I had found them when I first started (better late then never--I still go to their website to see if there's any new ideas to help me--try it out.

Patterns, uniforms, tents, hoopskirts, etc.
If all else fails, try ebay. You can get hard to find stuff here and find normal stuff cheaper than you would anywhere else (normally). Just type in things like "reenact*", "Civil War: tent, dress, trousers, pants, uniform, coat, jacket, boots, bonnet", "Army cot", etc. They always have something.
